Transform your brightly lit summer images with this fun technique

For many photographers, having a spare camera body converted to shoot infrared is a luxury that’s hard to justify. But this eye-catching type of photography, which is best shot in the middle of bright sunny days when there’s foliage on trees, creates amazing results. But rather than using an Infrared filter which makes exposures long, here’s how to replicate the effect in Photoshop.

1 Adjust Hue/Saturation Create a Hue/Saturation Adjustment Layer and, when the dialogue opens, click on the dropdown menu set to Master, select Yellows and set Saturation to +15. Select Greens and set Saturation to +15. Go to Cyans and set Lightness to -25 and then Blues to set Lightness to -30.
