CONTROVERSIAL REMARK
Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Ramiz Raja announced a number of new projects for the game. He also listed his and the Pakistan team's achievements since becoming the head of the board. However, former Pakistan cricketer Tanvir Ahmed wasn't pleased with Raja's statement. Ahmed, who represented Pakistan in 5 Tests, 2 ODIs, and a sole T20I, was hoping to see better performance from Raja, but even he has been disappointing. "He hasn't done anything good. The selection criteria is still not on merit," said Ahmed on his official YouTube channel, as quoted by Pakistan's news outlet Samaa TV. "He is passing the time rather than working for the betterment of cricket in Pakistan," he added. Raja has also announced the start of junior PSL. "The young players will think that they don't need to play long-form cricket and instead focus on hitting sixes."
DIFFERENCES BETWEEN GREATS
If there is an era of bowlers which comes close to the fearsome West Indies' bowling attack, then it has to be Pakistan when Imran Khan, Wasim Akram, and Waqar Younis used to bowl together. These three names resonated with fear and were enough to scare the opposition. Imran Khan retired in 1992, but the duo 'W's Wasim and Waqar continued terrorizing the stumps together. The bowling duo accumulated over 1700 international wickets, the most for any bowling pair in the history of cricket. Although, what felt like a great friendship turned into rifts and egos. He said it was healthy competition between them, and both wanted to outperform each other. He clarified that neither of the two ever thought ill of anyone on the pitch.
