WHEN MAJOR LEAGUE teams visit Milwaukee, they often stay at the Pfister Hotel, a lovely 130-year-old building downtown that is purportedly built on a former gravesite and is now haunted. Countless players have related stories of strange goings-on: Bryce Harper, for instance, swore in 2012 he woke up to find that a table had moved to the other side of his room. In May, Dodgers right fielder Mookie Betts was so freaked out at the possibility of being old-school ghosted that he just stayed in an Airbnb instead.
The Pfister is not the only haunted hotel in sports.
