NATHAN Lowe's strike inspired promotion-chasing Walsall to victory over AFC Wimbledon at the Cherry Red Records Stadium.

Lowe's poacher-style goal six minutes into the second half settled the game in the visitors' favour and cut the gap to leaders Port Vale to three points.

The striker, who is on loan from Stoke City, has said recently he's been trying to learn lessons watching Manchester City star Erling Haaland.

And Saddlers boss Mat Sadler hailed his matchwinner, saying: "Nathan is experiencing something league football that he has never experienced before, that is what it is all about.

"Different game, different styles, different atmospheres.

That is what this loan is all about for him and he has taken to it really well.

"It is just a group that wants to work hard for each other.

"That is always such a good start point and an important start point for any team.
