They are the bookies’ favourites, and with good reason. Wrexham will have the biggest budget in the division by a distance, and could quite comfortably take a top player away from a League One club.
Of course, having money and spending it are different things, and what Wrexham have done really well is future-proof their squad. Even in the National League, they were building a team of League One and League Two players who could go again after promotion.
It’s very similar to what Stockport did the year before, and they came within a penalty shoot-out of going up last season.
Rob and Ryan are - obviously - huge assets. What I saw when I went to Wrexham last year was the effort and the time that both of them put into the community.
