ROOKIE Leyton Orient defender Jayden Sweeney says his future can wait – he just wants a League Two winner’s medal!
The 21-year-old is enjoying a breakthrough season with the O’s, having played 20 games heading into the weekend.
The left-back’s displays have caught the eye for the long-time League Two leaders and the fact his contract comes to an end this summer doesn’t faze him.
He told The FLP: “I find it quite funny when people say that clubs are looking at me – I’ve only played a handful of games!
“I just let my family and agent take care of that. My main focus is winning the league with the team. If and when I have that League Two winner’s medal round my neck, then we’ll see what the future brings.
“Leyton Orient is my club – I’ve been here for the whole of my career. It’s somewhere I feel extremely comfortable, somewhere I can call home. Going elsewhere would feel very foreign to me.”
Although the east Londoners have found it tough to replicate the blistering form they showed in the first half of the season, they still look well set to climb into League One.
