Barnsley’s ‘Great Dane’ is sure to play a big role in that bid and his displays this term have been recognised with his selection in the divisional Team of the Season.
The 25-year-old shared the accolade with his team-mates and manager Michael Duff – the ninth boss (permanent and caretakers included) that he has played under for the South Yorkshire side.
“I’m very proud to get selected in the team and that comes from my heart,” Andersen told The FLP. “But I wouldn’t have got the recognition without my teammates and the management staff.
“If the guys to the left and right of me hadn’t been playing to a high standard, I wouldn’t have been either. It’s also the first time I’ve gone a whole season at Barnsley with the same manager and he made me want to stay after we got relegated.
