Those who don't believe in ghosts might see one when in Kilkenny! Kilkenny, Ireland, is a great place to search for ghostly figures if you're looking for some. Kilkenny is filled with tragic events that are believed to have left behind ghosts that visitors can see even today.
The first witch trial in Ireland occurred in Kilkenny, about 80 miles from Dublin. A bridge collapsed during a flood in 1763, resulting in the drowning of 16 people. During the early morning hours, people report seeing creepy figures rising above the mist in the River Nore.
There is no direct connection from England to Kilkenny. It is advisable to take a taxi to East Midlands Airport, and then fly to Dublin. After that take the walk to Dublin Airport T2, and thentake the bus to Dublin Heuston Rail Station. Best to walk to Heuston, and then take the train to Kilkenny.
There is a direct train departing from Heuston and arriving at Kilkenny MacDonagh. The rail and air services depart every three hours, and operate every day. The journey takes approximately 1h 38m.
