Get more energy in 10 MINS

Women are more tired than ever, as we're constantly trying to cram so much into our lives, says nutritionist Jenna Hope (jennahopenutrition.com). 'This means stress levels are higher, sleep is often not a priority and, as a result, the consumption of high-sugar, high-fat convenience foods tends to become a regular occurrence.'

The good news? Most people can boost their energy levels instantly with some simple lifestyle tweaks. Here's what you need to do.

Natural light resets the internal body clock, which is easier in summer when it's lighter much earlier. 'Exposure to morning light helps you get over that groggy feeling when waking and makes you feel more alert,' says expert Lisa Artis from The Sleep Charity.

Wake up your body

Before showering, dry-brush your skin to boost circulation and remove those energy-zapping toxins. 'Work in small circular movements upwards from your feet, using enough pressure so that it tingles but doesn't hurt,' says wellbeing expert Janey Lee Grace. Use invigorating shower gels with mint or citrus to stimulate your senses.
