Golden touch
Sun-drenched yellows are given a golden glow when teamed with shades of tan, taupe and mustard. Layering is key to getting this bold look right, starting with a swathe of gold on the walls and picking out tonal colours through soft furnishings and wooden accessories.
Classic walls and ceilings matt emulsion in Caramel Kisses, £30 for 2.5ltr, Valspar. Other items, stylist’s own
Pastel pop
Far from the saccharine baby pinks and blues usually associated with pastels, lilac is a chicer shade to incorporate into your interiors. Team with almost-white yellows and other neutral tones to ground the pale purple pop. Make it modern with sculptural shapes – think chunky crockery, domed lighting and curved chairs.
