As Lorraine Kelly takes time off from her daytime show, could Christine Lampard be being lined up to permanently replace her?

It’s almost impossible to imagine switching on the TV in the morning and not seeing Lorraine Kelly. But after four successful decades on breakfast telly – and 14 years at the helm of her self-titled show – is it time for ITV to shake things up and bring in a new face?

Lorraine, 64, who is currently off-screen for the summer holidays, has been taking increasing amounts of time off of her show, with regular stand-ins Christine Lampard and Ranvir Singh stepping in. And with fans calling for Christine to replace Lorraine for good, saying things online such as, ‘Wish you were on every day,’ and, ‘Really think Christine should front the show permanently,’ it seems Lorraine’s time could potentially be up…
