Staring at my bank balance on the cashpoint screen, I sighed with worry. I was down to my last few pounds and, like a lot of other people, I had no idea when I would make money again.
It was April 2020, and thanks to lockdown, a lot of businesses had closed. As a hairdresser and bartender my work had dried up overnight. I had bills to pay and knew I needed to find a new job but it was easier said than done.
Later that night, I confided in a friend about my money worries.
‘You should do what I do, and make money from your feet,’ she said.
I couldn’t help but laugh, thinking she must be joking. But she explained she’d recently joined a foot fetish website and took pictures of her feet to sell. She told me she could make a few hundred pounds from just one photo. I was stunned and had never heard of such a thing. But as I looked down at my tanned size 5s, with carefully painted toenails, I began to wonder if perhaps my feet could be moneymakers too.

'THAT'S NOT MY BABY'
Lying in the hospital bed, my husband Michael had tears of happiness in his eyes as he showed me a photo on his phone. 'Here she is,' he said proudly. 'There must be a mistake.'It was August 2010 and I'd not long before had an emergency caesarean. I'd not had a chance to see Winnie when she arrived as she'd been whisked away for tests because she was nearly two months premature.
