Uplifting ideas
Add another layer of loveliness by dressing up fences, arches, and pergolas with autumn-flowering climbers and wall shrubs. Some will flower from summer until the first frosts, while others only blossom once temperatures dip and the days shorten. Whatever you grow, ensure they are properly supported, for instance, by tying stems to a trellis or galvanized wires attached to vine eyes. You can also encourage natural scramblers, such as clematis, to clamber over shrubs and into trees.
