So much has changed since Queen Elizabeth II passed on 8 September last year, leaving behind a family torn apart. But as we approach 12 months since her death, insiders say the palace is readying itself for the big return of a pivotal family member – Prince Harry!
Sources confirm the wayward Duke of Sussex has been planning a secret trip to Balmoral to see his father, King Charles III, ahead of the anniversary of the Queen’s death.
While they have much to discuss after so much time apart, one thing the father and son need to do is work through their “unprocessed grief” together since losing the much-loved monarch.
“Harry still has yet to stand side by side with his father and share a private moment of mourning for her,” says an insider. “He still hasn’t dealt with his grandmother not being there and he needs to have that one-on-one time with his dad. Since becoming a father, Harry has a better understanding of the parental bond.”
Talk of a reunion has been rife since news broke that Harry, 38, would return to the UK to attend an event for his beloved kids’ charity WellChild on 7 September.
