With the Duchess of Sussex's Netflix docuseries looming, the Princess of Wales has been preparing for the worst. After all, her sister-in-law thought nothing of trashing her during a sit-down chat with Oprah Winfrey, where Meghan insisted Kate had made her cry in the build-up to her wedding to Prince Harry.
"Kate barely spoke a word to Meghan while she was in the UK for the Queen's funeral - and who can blame her?" a palace source tells Woman's Day. "She can't trust that whatever she says won't be twisted and talked about in Meghan's latest Hollywood project." So it's with some surprise that those close to Meghan say the 41-year-old has recently "done a U-turn on the whole Kate thing and has actually admitted she owes Kate an apology".
A friend of the duchess tells us, "Kate is known to be one of the nicest, most polite people in the royal family, so Meghan was shaken up when she found herself so coldly iced out last month.
"It was incredibly awkward, and it made her stop and think about how Kate must have felt to have all their personal issues dredged up in public.
"Losing the Queen was a hard time for everyone and Meghan could have done with a friend at the funeral. As a fellow family outsider, that person should have been Kate, but she made it clear Meghan was not welcome anywhere near her."
