PR Daroz is the Husain of ceramicists. He has been honoured with the National Academy Award for ceramics by Lalit Kala Akademi and the 2nd World Ceramics Triennale, Yugoslavia. Apart from participating in international artists' workshops across the world, he has been a member of the International Academy of Ceramics and represented India in the 4th World Ceramic Biennale, Korea, the 2nd Beijing Art Triennial, China and the 3rd World Ceramic Triennial, Zagreb.
Daroz says, "Wheel-thrown forms of pottery remain my first love, as around five decades back I began my clay journey with a potter's wheel. It is a matter of great pleasure for me to revisit the potter's wheel once again through the '100 Bowls' Show organised by People For Animals for the noble cause of Animal Welfare. The juxtaposition of two circular walls is metaphoric of our inner and outer self, where the outer wall with its rhythmic contours, textured surfaces, and fluidity meander around the inner circle, the inner circle standing composed, embracing all external movements. This variability and shifting of the focus of two circles are in tune with the traditional Indian world- view, which is simultaneous and integral.
