CLEANFLUENCERS ARE CLEANING UP
Our obsession with watching people clean isn’t as new as you’d think When you come from a long line of scrubbers, there’s nothing like something really mucky to whet your appetite. Especially if it involves rubber and masks…
It’s alright, I haven’t suddenly gone all Fifty Shades of Grey (at the husband’s age, that would be positively dangerous!). I’m talking about something most of us women do pretty much every day of our lives, most without even thinking about it.
Cleaning. Yep, the simple task of making sure our homes are as dirt-free and tidy as possible. Obviously, they’re not always the gleaming palaces we’d like them to be, but mostly we muddle by with a bit of draining-board wiping down and some cushion plumping.
But at this time of year, even those of us who can be (whisper it) a bit of a slattern (isn’t that a lovely old-fashioned word?) around the house, get the spring-cleaning bug. We’ve been doing this for centuries – across all faiths and cultures spring is a time to contemplate fresh starts, so mentally it’s a good time to cleanse the home.
