With her non-stop schedule and boundless energy, it’s hard to believe that Ruth Langsford turned 64 in March. So what’s the secret behind her amazing skin, sunny disposition and positive get-up-and-go attitude?
Although she admits she has found losing weight a struggle since the menopause kicked in, she makes sure she sticks to a healthy exercise and eating regime to give her the oomph she needs as a busy presenter.
She also credits having an upbeat attitude with keeping her on track. ‘Feeling fabulous is partly about how you look but also about feeling fabulous in your relationship, friendships, career and social life,’ she smiles. ‘At this age, it’s about enjoying life. We can all compare ourselves to others, but what’s the point?’
The mum-of-one has some simple food rules to help her stay on track. She makes all her meals from scratch whenever she gets the chance, and often shows off her cooking skills on social media. She also preps her food the night before on busy days, which will include a breakfast of boiled eggs, ham and avocado, a green juice and lunch (her favourite go-to is a chopped Greek salad), along with fruit to snack on so she isn’t tempted by any sugary treats that are on offer!
