Davina McCall may be turning 57 later this year, but the mum of three is bursting with energy and boasts the body of someone half her age. What's her secret?
'I wish there was a magic wand that kept you fit and healthy, but honestly, I exercise regularly and I eat healthily,' says Davina. 'I know it sounds boring, but there is no quick fix. Believe me, I've tried fad diets in the past and I know they don't work.'
The Long Lost Family host began working out in her mid-30s and she's never looked back. She also intermittent fasts and followed the ZOE nutritional programme, to find out what foods do and don't suit her body. 'Doing ZOE was a real eye-opener. I always knew sugar and I aren't friends, and it confirmed that. Even though I do stay away from sugar, I will still eat chocolate and have puddings when I go out. I follow the 80/20 rule of being good 80% of the time and not worrying if I'm not perfect the other 20%, and I enjoy the 20%! I fast from 8pm until 10am, so it's really not difficult, and I definitely feel more energetic since I've been doing that.'
