This 47th issue of Gallerie on environment concerns, is a tribute to three inspiring souls who had inhabited our earth: The Birdman of India, ornithologist and naturalist; Salim Ali, Gandhian activist Sundarlal Bahuguna who gave traction to the âChipko Andolanâ [Tree-hugging Movement] in India to preserve our trees, and feisty Kenyan activist Wangari Muta [Maathai], who had founded the Green Belt Movement working on reforestation and sustainability. Our profound
gratitude to all of them.
May they live on through our forests, mountains and rivers.
