Entering its 5th year in Taiwan, the Michelin Guide has been spotlighting the island’s culinary scene. Since 2020, it has included Taichung in its evaluation, and in 2022, it ventured into southern Taiwan for the first time, awarding stars to restaurants in Tainan and Kaohsiung. This expansion has resulted in the publication of the “Taipei, Taichung, Tainan & Kaohsiung Michelin Guide.” Beyond Michelin stars, Bib Gourmand, and Plate distinctions, the Michelin Guide introduced three awards in the UK and Ireland Guide in 2017: the Young Chef Award, the Service Award, and the Sommelier Award.
