In our feature interviews in this issue we talk to cover artist and Trance legend SOLARSTONE From THE UK. scene founding father to ringleader and flag-bearer of the Pure Trance movement, Solarstone (producer, composer & DJ Richard Mowatt) enduring influence stretches back almost as far as the genre itself. Releases like ‘Solarcoaster’, ‘The Calling’ and ‘Seven Cities’ are all benchmark classics of its pre-millennial period. The latter track – among the first of the Balearic trance anthems – has been re-released 3 times, and now sold in excess of ½ million copies. Remixed by Armin van Buuren amongst others, its instantly recognizable sunset/sunrise-sound legacy is still heard in tracks today. With the albums ‘Anthology One’ ‘RainStarsEternal’, ‘Touchstone’, ‘Pure’ , ‘One’ and most recently ‘island’, he’s also released a sextet of critically revered longplayers. Solarstone has long brought his sound to some of the most famous clubs, arenas and festivals on the planet.

CRISTIAN VARELA from Spain. Master and servant for the cause. Cristian Varela has a very busy
schedule that takes him all over the world. For those who are patient, you should be able to catch this
awarded artist in your home city or country. For those who need a more regular dose of his music
selections, you can catch his weekly radio show at Bloop London Radio and all his shows that’s
syndicated in Europe, USA, South America and Asia via more than 100 specialised techno stations in
more than 50 countries. Pioneering techno producer with his own weapons. Cristian Varela has run since
2003 one of his most esteemed projects: Black Codes Experiments imprint. As it could not be otherwise,
the label forged itself a firm reputation as one of the most prestigious, forward-thinking brands on the
international electronic music circuit. Futuristic, enthusiastic and with a constant target of forming a
strong alliance by keeping people dancing in unity to the electronic sounds and beats.

In our feature interviews in this issue we talk to cover artist and UK Techno Legend D.A.V.E. THE
DRUMMER. If you are into Techno Music, you may have already come across one of D.A.V.E. The
Drummer’s records. Hailing from London’s illegal warehouse party scene that exploded in the 90’s, DJ &
producer D.A.V.E. The Drummer started the label Hydraulix in 1998 as an output for his own production
ideas. Hydraulix made some big waves in the Hard Techno scene throughout the 2000’s and is still going
strong with many of the new releases hitting the top spots in respectable online stores charts. Tracks
from Hydraulix have found their way into the playlists of some of the worlds top DJs, as well as keeping
a huge following of underground Techno DJs across the globe.

In our feature interviews in this issue we talk to cover artist and Australian Legend ANTHONY PAPPA.
Australia's Anthony Pappa is considered one of the nation's biggest electronic music exports. From
launching his illustrious career in his hometown of Melbourne to rising to the top of the global DJ elites,
Anthony's journey has been a personal and infectious ride, a ‘love letter’ to his fans and the music he
has devoted himself to for over 30 years. He has been instrumental over the last 30 years in the
contributing to the electronic music industry, crafting mix compilation albums for series such as – Global
Underground, Renaissance, Balance, Platipus Records, and DJ Magazine, with over 100 releases credited
under various guises, selling over 500 000 records, singles and compilations, Anthony has consistently
raised the bar in Progressive House and electronic music globally, earning his revered status amongst
fans and DJs alike.

In our feature interviews in this issue we talk to cover artist and Spanish Legend WALLY LOPEZ.
Born in San Blas in Madrid, 1976, Angel David López starts his career as a DJ and radio presenter at the
early age of thirteen. With an innovative programme, specialized in dance music, he broadcasts his
sessions at Top Radio (Spain) in the early mornings of the weekend. Wally, a pioneer of the house music
in Spain, starts his career as producer in 2000 by launching the label Weekend Records, and remixing
artists such as Tiësto, Marco V, Valentino Kanzyani, Dirty Vegas, Bob Sinclar and Robbie Riviera. Many of
his records are successfully published with renowned labels including Defected, Underwater, Yoshitoshi
and Subliminal.

In our feature interviews in this issue we talk to cover artist and Spanish Legend ISMAEL RIVAS.
With over 25 years of experience behind him, Ismael Rivas, has amply demonstrated why he is one of
the best DJ's in Spain and abroad. We could describe him as many ways, but the easiest one and with
the better we can identify is with his music: own style, with lots of character, with which he transmits to
the people his personality, full of energy, with epic melodies, strong rhythms, and electronic character.

In our feature interviews in this issue we talk to cover artist and workhorse TIM FRENCH. Tim French is a British DJ Producer based in Plymouth UK. He spent the Nineties playing to large audiences across the South West of the UK including renowned nights Scream & United held at Plymouth’s legendary Warehouse. Also playing at many popular clubs and nights such as Drop Zone & Boss Nova at the Sound Factory (Plymouth UK), The Monastery (Torquay UK), The Grove (Seaton UK) as well as various other venues throughout the South West of England.

Harry Lemon aka LEMON8 has been at the forefront of dance music both as a DJ and producer, whilst producing a soundtrack of a generation at the same time. Model8 - his first ever produced track from 1993 - is now being recognized as a classic and landmark in Techno and dance music in general. The Inner Sanctuary Sessions double album, solely consisting of his original music and remixes is now recognized as a highlight in Progressive House Music with tracks like New York, New York and Lose Control just to name a few. The latter was even voted all-time best record on the iconic Bedrock label in 2020 by the fans by a landslide.

Their style is a 360° blend of every musical genre, with the add of their Alien basslines and beats. Their numbers on Social Media are constantly growing: with 140.000 Instagram followers and 1,5 million Spotify monthly listeners, and 600.000 YouTube subscribers they’re currently one of the most popular DJ acts in the whole world..Their videos on YouTube have over 250 million views and the numbers are constantly growing...

In our feature interviews in this issue we talk to cover legend Peter Michael Strube aka DER WÜRFLER was born in Berlin in 1960. At the age of 13 he was playing house parties after school with a DUAL turntable and SABA tape machine!
In 1975 at the age of 15 he got his first fee for DJ'jing at a gay club, Berlin Kreuzberg, and that was it, he was hooked! Between then and now he has played in hundreds of club nights, and clubs, magazines, radio stations, live streems, TV stations, and books, the list is endless! He has even been a dancer in clubs, and many film extras.

When you think of Progressive House, there’s a handful of producers that are extremely respected and have been at the top of their game for many years. Nick Muir is one of those guys who has his feet firmly planted on the floor.
 A genuinely nice guy who produces the most amazing progressive house/techno with twists and turns that very few can replicate. During the early Nighties, Nick met John Digweed. Together they started writing and remixing club tracks under the name Bedrock. It was not long into their association that they wrote and recorded the track 'For What You Dream Of' on Stress Records, which featured on the seminal ground-breaking compilation 'Renaissance - The Mix Collection' put together by John in conjunction with Sasha.

Eddie Amador’s career in music started in 1993 but like a lot of DJ/ producers he didn’t get his big break straight away, he worked hard at his craft and it wasn’t until 1998 that that the spotlight shone on him when we penned the global hit ‘House Music’ featuring the line  “not everyone understands house music, it’s a spiritual thing, a body thing, a soul thing”. After that things started to really fly and remix work started coming in from the likes of Madonna, Michael Buble and Seal to name but a few. He also started remixing for labels like Warner Bros. Records and Reprise. This led to one of his remixes from Madonna’s ‘Hard Candy’ album called ‘Give It To Me’ reaching number one in the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play Chart and Eddie’s career started to really fly.

Multi talented DJ, producer and vocalist John Graham began his production career in the early 1990s and is best known as Quivver and his DnB alias Skanna, with other monikers including Space Manoeuvres, Stoneproof and Tilt. Widely regarded as one of the world's most versatile and consistent DJs and producers, he launched his new imprint ‘Controlled Substance’ back in 2017 as a test bed for his darker, more experimental productions.

In our feature interviews in this issue we talk to cover beauty, and one of the icons of dance music, ANGIE BROWN. Every artist needs a big break and Angie’s came in the early nineties when she was freelancing for an agency in an attempt to become known.

Then came Bizarre Inc. who were looking for a big voice to perform their next track following the success of “Playing with knives”. One audition and three months later the “I’m Gonna Get You” was mixed and the pre-sales were 45,000, it went straight into the UK National charts at #17 and finally rested at #2.

With the success of this track, Angie was able to launch a full-time career as a vocalist and now appears sometimes as a featured artiste or more recently on all new projects actually co-writes tracks with the DJ or producer as well as performs them.

Examples of her work in more recent times can be heard on various labels including Hed Kandi, Milk & Sugar, Krafted and Mark Knight’s Toolroom Records.

Seb has been spinning for over 30 years and travelled to every inch of the globe, Seb Fontaine has held down residencies at some of the biggest clubs in the World, as well as featuring on an endless list of festivals and events.

In our feature interviews in this issue we talk to cover artist JUDGE JULES [UK]. There are DJs that have achieved a lot in their careers and people in the dance music industry that can say the same but there are not many that can say that they have done as much for the dance scene as Judge Jules.
He is a DJ, radio DJ, producer, promoter, music lawyer and so much more that its hard to know where to start in compiling a set of questions to ask someone that has achieved so much, over such a long period.

Next up,  LOU COOPER [TOOLROOM] [UK]. Toolroom Records is known internationally as one of the most innovative major brands in dance music. Launched in 2003 by the Knight brothers, Mark and Stuart, the brand has developed the careers of many artists and become such a globally successful brand that there are not many cities in this World that Toolroom have not visited and dominated the club scene.

We talk to POLE FOLDER [Belgium]. The #1 artist with his Destinations show on what’s considered the ‘go to’ radio station for progressive house, Frisky Radio, is one of the things that springs to mind when you mention Pole Folder. He was also voted Belgium’s Best DJ in 2010 with what can only be described as an impressive, multi instrument live show.

Next up from Ireland, we have, CIARAN MCCAULEY. For those that are unaware as to who Ciaran McAuley is, allow me to shed more light. He is a product of universal recognition, a direct manifestation, not of ordinary but of extraordinary. His devotion and contribution to trance is more prominent than ever.

In recent weeks, T.H.E Music Essentials compiled a list of ‘10 Trance Artists that made our 2017 Better’ and Ciaran made the cut. They quoted ‘Ciaran has had no fewer than 6 top ten originals on Beatport this year, including the acclaim and support of many big names in the scene’
