It takes true confidence in oneself for one to live life on her own terms. To make rules for yourself and not care about what society says about who a woman your age should date what she should wear, eat or do for leisure. This year’s Fab at Any Age issue includes stories that focus in one way or another on women who have refused to pick “either or” when it comes to parenting or working, choosing between traditional or modern weddings or remaining quiet in the face of injustices. Kinda like our cover girl Ciku Muiruri who after single-handedly putting her daughter through St Andrews, Turi and the University of Nottingham in the UK, now just wants to have fun. She has also won a civil lawsuit against a media house that aired a story that linked her to the Artur brother’s saga. If nothing else we hope that this issue reminds you that you can look good, enjoy sex as well as learn to deal with rejection at any age. Do enjoy this last month before Christmas’ craziness sets in.
