MANY in the fancy enjoy attending a show, whether for the thrill of competition or the opportunity to socialise with like-minded people. For some it’s a day of relaxation but for others it is the culmination of hours of hard work and entails a busy day. Show schedules and catalogues need to be produced, as do results sheets and judging slips on the day. Entries need to be taken, recorded and cage labels written.
On the day, the birds on the bench need to be tended to, cages taken to the bench and door money taken. Without those who take on these jobs there simply isn’t a show. If you are a showgoer, many hands make light work, so offering some assistance is always appreciated. Below are some of the main roles that come together to make a successful show.
