BUDGERIGARS
ANYONE looking to take up breeding blue budgerigars, whether new to the hobby or already a seasoned breeder, will have an absolute ocean of choice when putting together a breeding programme.
Apart from the obvious – skyblue, cobalt, mauve and violet shades of blue – there are all the other varieties that can be integrated and used, such as opalines, cinnamons, spangles, all the pied varieties and any of the rare varieties that the fancier may wish to breed with. If that’s not enough choice, greens, greys and grey-greens can also be used, particularly if they are split for blue. So, there’s a huge variety of choice to pick from when selecting which direction to go in and how to achieve the best results.
