From passion to professionalism: Grow your dream of becoming an equine-industry professional.
There’s an old saying: “If you do what you love, you will never work a day in your life.
” Fortunately, the equine industry al-lows you to combine passion for horses with professionalism by becoming educated and qualifying for certification — the very qualities that will help you stand out among professionals.
Commitment to Excellence
The Certified Horsemanship Association (http://cha-ahse.org and www.CHA instructors.com) is one of America’s largest non-university-based equine education providers.
The 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization — which was founded in 1967 and will celebrate its 50th year of service in 2017 — has chosen as its slogan: “CHA changes lives through safe experiences with horses.” The group calls this its “Why Statement,” emphasizing why those involved in the equine industry can have full confidence in what CHA represents.
CHA has set as its purpose: “To promote excellence in safety and education for the benefit of the entire horse industry.” Continuing from this purpose, the mission statement reads: “This is accomplished by certifying instructors, accrediting equine facilities, producing educational conferences and publishing educational resources such as horsemanship manuals, DVDs, safety video shorts, webinars, a monthly radio show, weekly blog, posters and much more.”
CHA offers safety tips on virtually every topic in a horse’s world. CHA is also the nation’s foremost educator and certifying body for riding instructors, instructors of riders with disabilities, trail guides, vaulting coaches, equine-facility managers, seasonal equestrian staff, and driving instructors and drivers.
