Located in Nagpur, the Kothari House is a 4-bedroom apartment with a terrace looking across some greens and building tops. The designers went with a fusion of modern Indian design sensitivities with a touch of elegance. The basic design language involves a base colour palette in shades of whites, light greys, textures, and beiges combined with colour pops added through fabrics and artwork in the desired areas.
A WARM WELCOME
With this said, to expect a unique entrance in the form of a very elegantly lit foyer, invaluably providing a glimpse of the grand living room through a small decorative arched partition, was a mandate! Once across the foyer, one is greeted by a massive grey mural wall on the right, having a stunning resemblance of a traditional Indian stone sculptural wall. Though constructed with 3D panels, the wall sets the mood for a luxurious seating in the form of light sea green sofas facing each other surrounded by a very carefully picked collection of artefacts. The space gets completed with an equally intricate false ceiling above. Apart from the textured wall, another highlight of the living room is the golden metal curtain that provides a subtle physical segregation for the other areas of the house, keeping our curiosity intact! Which when removed, we are graciously welcomed by a terrace with swanky Moroccan flooring, a bold striped sofa, and a green ceiling forming a perfect frame for the view outside.
