MAN Trucks Plans To Make India Global Sourcing And Export Hub: Joerg Mommertz
The Pune-based MAN Trucks India Pvt. Ltd. is a fully owned subsidiary of MAN Truck & Bus AG, Germany. The products manufactured in its plant at Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh, include tippers for off-road and construction, haulage for regular and over dimensional cargo, and special application trucks and bulkers. The product range for India is developed at the R&D centre in Pune. In a recent interaction, the Chairman and Managing Director of MAN Trucks India, Joerg Mommertz shared the company’s future plans with Bhargav TS.
South To Drive Indian Automotive Industry Growth: Vikram Kirloskar
Strong growth in vehicle demand due to rising income, middle class, and a young population is likely to propel India to be the third largest automotive market by volume in the world by 2020. South India, in particular, is expected to contribute at least a third of the output and about 40% of new investments. Strengthening the infrastructure and the competitiveness of the component sector will go a long way to support the growth of the automotive industry here. This region can be promoted as the most favoured destination for R&D in hybrid, and e-vehicles.
