When too much gold just ain’t enough …
El Locho sounds like some kind of hallucinogenic weed from the Yucatan and is perhaps a very fitting moniker for this visually striking Mexican Deluxe.
Brum and I first saw this bike in the rain at Traralgon Harley-Davidson when we did the Fire Relief Charity Ride in January (see Issue #169). A quick ask around and I was introduced to Bart who was volunteer chef on the day, cooking up the sausage sizzle and onions to help raise money for the bushfire fundraiser.
Bart not only owns this extraordinary bike but built it single-handedly after deciding on his vision. Bart runs Hydeng out of Sale, which is a business primarily supplying service and repairs to hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for local industries including timber and forestry, farming, earthmoving and construction.
Bart is clearly a technical wiz. He chose to buy his own electroplating equipment so that he could do all the gold you see on this blindingly shiny machine himself.
