If our retrospective has whetted your appetite, then for £4,995 you can take your pick from two virtually unused examples currently for sale at Thurlby Motors in Lincolnshire (www.thurlbymotors.com).
The former Vauxhall main agent has diversified recently into selling modern classics, with a showroom of over 50 cars from the 1980s to the early 2000s, ranging from the exotic to, well, these two - a pair of Rover 100s from 1995.
Both of these cars are incredible low mileage examples, procured from elderly owners who barely used them in the 22 years in which they owned them.
The Kensington SE and Knightsbridge were two of the plush 100s named after posh London boroughs (we can only assume that the Metro Haringey came with pre-rusted arches and the Metro Shoreditch had a primer-finished wing in a sense of hipster irony, while the Metro Tower Hamlets left the factory already burned out), and both of these cars are as close to factory finish as you could wish to imagine.
