A Grand Gathering

Bride Sunnie recounts her magical wedding day to DJ Nav held at the prestigious Dallas Burston Polo Club

THE PROPOSAL

Some moments in life are so magical, they are beyond imagination and that’s how I would describe the moment my husband Nav proposed. Nav is a DJ with Kudos so regularly works abroad. One day he surprised me with a trip to join him in Dubai. The adventures began as soon as we landed. Nav had arranged a Desert safari with sand skiing after which time I retreated to the pool to relax. After getting ready for a night out which Nav had arranged to spend with his fellow music friends, I went to the hotel bar to meet them. The sight that greeted me was one to behold. Nav was down on one knee, surrounded by petals and holding a ring box against the beautiful skyline of the most glamorous city in the world. It was the most beautiful setting and backdrop. Nav also arranged for a photographer to capture the memory.

THE BIG DAY

Both of our families were over the moon when they heard the news and we agreed on an Autumn celebration as Nav was booked up the entire summer Djing weddings for other brides and grooms, however, we did have our official Indian engagement ceremony then, attended by immediate family and close friends. The main wedding, however, was a grand affair with 750 guests. Lucky for me, having to plan such a big event was easy – I was marrying an expert. Nav is one of the best-known DJs in the industry and also does wedding co-ordination.
