India’s participation at ANUGA increased by 19 pc in terms of exhibitors and 220 pc in terms of visitors from 2013 to 2015, which has led to India presenting its culinary diversity and efficiency in the food industry as a partner country in the 34th edition of ANUGA taking place this year.
The international leader in organising food fairs and events regarding food and beverages, Koelnmesse organises global food processing trade fairs such as ISM, Anuga Food Tec and ANUGA. Not only in Cologne, Germany, Koelnmesse has established its footprint in Brazil, China, India, Italy, Japan, Thailand, United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the United State of America (US) with a host of market contents and focuses. When the organisers of ANUGA held a press conference in the Indian capital New Delhi in June, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for participation in ANUGA was signed by the minister of food processing industries Harsimrat Kaur Badal for India and Katharina C Hamma, chief operating officer, Koelnmesse GmBH (organisers of ANUGA).
The minister said it was an honour for India to be a co-partner country in such a prestigious international event. “It gives us the opportunity to showcase our strengths and opportunities to an international audience. Brand India will be standing parallel with Brand ANUGA in Cologne, Germany”
Why ANUGA?
The biennial food show, ANUGA - an acronym for Allgemeine Nahrungs- und Genussmittel- Ausstellung (general food and non-essential provisions exhibition) is conceived as one of the world’s biggest and most important trade fair for food and beverage industry. The show offers an extensive platform for the food industry enthusiasts through exhibition, industry events and enriching lectures from industry leaders. Around 7,200 exhibitors from 100 countries as well as 160,000 trade visitors from all over the world are expected to attend the 34th ANUGA.
