COVID-19 heightened people’s awareness on sanitation issues, especially in high-touch areas like the hotel bathroom. Fears of fomite-based transmission of coronavirus were at its peak during the early days of the pandemic, which completely redefined how people looked at bathrooms.
As visitors started perceiving public bathrooms and even those in hotel rooms as high-risk spaces, Dev Malhotra, Advisor - Sales and Marketing at Jaquar Group points out that this led to a surge of interest in touch-free fixtures and solutions. After all, the unlocking notwithstanding, these practices continue to be a necessary precaution for all. This attention on wellness and hygiene has also prompted guests to notice the often-overlooked nuances in a hotel bathroom. Malhotra explained how this, in turn, encouraged hotels to invest in luxuriant fittings, accessories, faucets, showers, and bathtubs, while reevaluating their bathroom designs.
How can the inclusion of luxurious and comforting elements in their bathroom projects help hotels elevate their overall guest experience?
Comfort and relaxation are mandatory expectations in all hotels. In that context, the bathroom plays a key role, next only to the bed and the promise of a good night’s sleep, if we consider only the in-room experience.
