NEW DRAMA
COBRA: Cyberwar
Friday, Sky Max HD & Sky Showcase HD, 9pm
The first series of tense political thriller COBRA followed Conservative Prime Minister Robert Sutherland as he battled to cope with the devastating fallout from a solar storm.
Tensions are rattling through the corridors of power again as the series returns to Sky this week for a new six-part run.
This time, Sutherland, played by Robert Carlyle, presides over more highly charged meetings to coordinate the response to another challenging emergency when a mysterious cyberattack threatens to paralyse the country following a shocking assassination.
Adding to the fraught situation is another crisis when a sunken World War Two ship causes devastation on the Kent coast.
Sutherland is forced to form an alliance with reactionary former Home Secretary Archie Glover-Morgan (David Haig). But as loyal chief of staff Anna Marshall (The Crown actor Victoria Hamilton) tries to support her boss, suspicion, danger, and unrest are rife.
We joined Carlyle, 60, and Hamilton, 50, via video chat to learn more...
What can you tell us about this new cyber crisis?
Carlyle This threat is considerable. They don’t know where it’s coming from, but it’s from somewhere bad. Sutherland doesn’t know who to believe and starts to get paranoid.
