You are originally from China, born in a tailor family. Could you tell us a bit about your childhood? - My family ran a tailor shop, so I always thought fashion design was my destiny. I started making my first skirt at the age of 8, and I never changed myself even though my classmates laughed at me in those strange self-made clothes.
Why were you drawn to fashion in the first place? - Fashion is a powerful means that permits people to express themselves in different ways. You can be very creative, experimental, and minimal, but with some important details to make you stand out. So, fashion was the best option to show my ideas and to narrate my point of view.
Launching a brand is an ambitious project. What made you decide to do it on your own? - I love to create, and I have a very specific vision of how to do it . I consider this similar to a journey that my audience can follow through the different seasons. So it was an easy choice to create a brand on my own. Obviously, it’s difficult because if you’re in doubt, there is no one to help, but at the same time, it’s very easy because you don’t have to compromise.
You decided to show your collections in Milan in 2017. What does Milan represent for your brand? - Milan is the city of fashion, and it’s also where I started to show my collection to the world, so to me, this city is very special and represents a lot on both personal and professional levels.
