Asterias rubens or common starfish is the most common starfish is usually found in the north-east Atlantic ocean. It is an echinoderm and marine invertebrates, not a fish. It has five arms and a central body with an orange or brown tinge. The upper surface may be smooth or spiny and is covered with overlapping plates. They have tube-like feet and a mouth at the center of the lower surface.
