This monotonous work style not only affects the overall health of an employee but also productivity. Since many studies have proved its adverse effect, most of the modern office spaces are being designed taking all these into considerations.
‘Architecturally charged’ was the main motto when the team at Architecture Discipline decided to move into a new office space set in a quiet piece of land amidst blooming mustard fields hidden within the chaotic national capital. The studio is placed within the quaint boulevards lined with ficus foliage and a gravel path guarded with trees on either side leads to the entrance. The gravel acts a porous surface which allows patches of reeds and grass to grow through transforming landscape every day.
Workspace is spread within two structures – an east-west oriented main area which resembles a transparent white box surrounded by greenery and a small red remodelled shipping container placed on a mound of earth with acoustically lined double glazed façade and exposed warm birch plywood walls. The red box is used as a zone to relax or to have private conversations for the employees and is furnished with a white Saarinen table with matching birch colour chairs and a polder couch in grey and military green.
