1 PAY ITS WAY
Start saving by making your old kitchen fund part of the cost of the new one. If your old units are in good condition but aren’t to your taste, or don’t work with any changes you’re making, sell them. There’s a good market for used kitchens and companies that specialise in selling them. You could also try sites like Gumtree or Facebook Marketplace. The same goes for your appliances. Your items go to someone who needs them and your kitchen will be a blank slate for the new units.
2 Streamline the space
Consider how many units you actually need. Could you reduce the number while still having adequate storage? A full-height larder might provide ample room for your big shop, bowls and dishes, small appliances and your growing collection of bags for life, and you won’t need wall units to supplement your base units. Instead, you can have open shelves to display decorative cookware, favourite recipe books, artwork and plants – this style can also make the room feel more spacious.
