Montblanc pays tribute to the mountains and the seas with the 4810 collection
THE HIGHEST MOUNTAIN in Europe is so wide that it straddles across two countries, Italy and France. The impressive width and height of Mont Blanc also mirrored the ambitious dreams of August Eberstein, Alfred Nehemias and Claus Voss. In 1906, the trio’s American travels prompted them to create a revolutionary fountain pen as well as the Montblanc brand. Just over 110 years later, that brand has become a luxury titan, creating items of splendour that straddle a variety of categories, just like the European mountain that inspired its name.
One of those categories is watchmaking. Backed by the Minerva manufacture, Montblanc’s horological creations have been nothing but stellar. The 4810 collection (representing the height of Montblanc – 4,810 metres), released last year, epitomised the company’s firm insistence on creativity and innovation.
