Nomsa Madida Touches On Motherhood
To the Mamas & Papas team, Nomsa Madida is the lady who always comes prepared to doll-up our cover stars for cover shoots, but to some, she’s a friend, a mother, a wife, and a child. An early meeting at The Maslow Hotel sets pace for what will be a busy day for the team, and while our stylist sorts out outfits for the shoot, Nomsa who emphasizes that the only person who touches her face is Nomsa herself. While she works on her face, bubbly Nomsa gives us a glimpse into the life of a working mom.

THE RUSH TO GROW UP

Nomsa grew up in Dobsonville, Soweto. Like many, she can’t help but fondly remember the days of living life without a care in the world. The only thing one really had to worry about was deciding which games to play. And the best part about being a child is the life-long friends we make along the way. “Two of my best friends today are friends I made when I was just 10 years old,” she tells us. Being a make-up artist must have been a calling, because even as a little girl, our cover mom would play with dolls and her mom’s makeup was always close by.
