Breaking Boundaries With Remy HII

The curiosity about the art of acting started from a young age when Australian actor Remy Hii was exposed to the full theatre experience. Remy’s mother loved watching plays at the theatre and instead of leaving Remy behind for someone else to look after, she brought him along too. That was the start that nurtured Remy’s love for theatre and acting as a whole as he watched the actors laugh and cry while performing on stage. It didn’t take long before Remy decided to jump on the bandwagon and try out acting himself. He auditioned and won a role in a local play which required him to be taken out of school for a few weeks. That first taste in acting quickly made him realize that acting was exactly the career path he would like to pursue.

Remy quickly followed up his theatre role with multiple television series like Better Man and then later in the soap opera Neighbours in 2013. His performance as Van Tuong Nguyen in the four-part miniseries, Better Man, even landed him a nomination for Best Lead Actor in Television Drama at the Australia Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Awards (AACTA). While he narrowly missed out on the award, he didn’t allow it to deter him and only fuelled his desire to continue with his acting career path.
