TELL US A BIT ABOUT YOUR VERSION OF PRINCE PHILLIP!
So, I play Prince Phillip and we meet him as the Prince of Ulstead – a kingdom we’re introduced to in the first film, but which opens up a bit more in the second film. He’s sort of figuring out what it means to be a leader and trying to find his voice as a young man. There’s a lot of conflict for him with his mum and going against his mum’s views, so really I just wanted to find out what it meant to be a prince in this world.
DID YOU HAVE ANY SPECIAL PRINCE TRAINING?
I definitely had to scrub up on my physical manners. I like to think of myself as very polite, but I can sometimes be a bit sloppy in my mannerisms and behavior, so sitting up straight and not slouching, that kind of thing. The costumes really helped with that though – they were really beautifully made, stiff leather jackets that you get fastened into for the day and that really helped.
