HENRY: WE MUST GO STEP BY STEP

DETERMINED defender Rico Henry has urged his Brentford team-mates to ‘stay focused’ as the race for the Premier League hots up.

Thomas Frank’s Bees have been one of the surprise packages in the Championship this season and their flowing attacking football has won many admirers.

But whether they can upset the odds and claim a place in the top-flight for the first time in 73 years remains to be seen – and the pressure is only going to ramp up between now and the beginning of May.

After the 1-1 home midweek draw against fellow promotion-chasers Leeds left the Bees fourth in the table, Henry told The FLP: “We have to stay focused, we can’t slip.

“The Championship is tight and there are a lot of teams that are still in it, so we have to take it game by game. We can’t look too far ahead because every game is big.

“There is pressure, but we can’t be too nervous before games – we have to enjoy it.”
