Loan Ace Theo Eyes Step Up With U's

Some say that to be a good striker, you’ve got to be selfish – but Theo Robinson is proving those people wrong.

The Colchester hitman has enjoyed a decent season at the U’s on loan from Southend, scoring 11 goals in League Two ahead of yesterday’s crunch clash against Cheltenham.

And though the former Derby and Doncaster man reached a standout personal milestone when he brought up 100 goals in the EFL against Grimsby last month, it is Colchester’s promotion charge that fuels his desire.

“Scoring goals is good and people will remember them, but promotion is something you can carry with you for the rest of your career,” said the 31-year-old.

Belief

“When you finish football, you can look back at the goals, but promotion is another level.

“I’ve done it before (with Hereford in 2008), but you just want to keep getting them as much as you can, because you’re there to win, to try and climb up the leagues.
