SCOTT PARKER praised his Fulham players’ mental strength after their second narrow home victory in four days kept them in touch with the top two.
Fulham knew that they had to win to remain five points behind Leeds United, and although they did not produce one of their most fluent performances, they made the most of their luck when Preston’s David Nugent headed them into the lead with a 58th-minute own goal.
Aboubakar Kamara made sure in added time with a breakaway goal.
“It is always important for us to win matches and we always go into every game expecting to win,” Parker said.
“This is where it comes down even more so to our mindset. My players looked tired, but we have a bit of belief about ourselves.
