DULWICH HAMLET achieved national acclaim when picking up the Football Supporters Association (FSA) National Game Community Award – and then dedicated it to the memory of their No.1 fan.
The National League South club saw off Bath City, Boston United, Dagenham & Redbridge, Stockport County and Whitehawk to scoop the top award, which highlights excellent community outreach work by Non-League football clubs.
But, three days later, the club were rocked by the death of the man they call Mr Dulwich Hamlet – Mishi Morath, a lifelong supporter and Non-League legend whose tireless work off the field helped to create the thriving community club in south London which Dulwich is today.
