TAUNTON Town chairman Kevin Sturmey believes radical action is needed in order to help Non-League prosper in the long-run.
Since the coronavirus pandemic forced football into lockdown three months ago, leading figures in the game have said that innovative thinking is required to keep the lifeblood of the game going.
Now Sturmey has added his voice to the calls, suggesting our bloated football system needs streamlining if clubs are going to be able to make ends meet.
The 56-year-old, who notches ten years as Peacocks chairman next month, said: “The French and Germans have two full-time divisions, but we seem to think we can have five and lots of part-time divisions below them. Sometimes less is more.
“We have to have fewer teams playing in maybe fewer leagues.
