It's Full Steam Ahead At Iron

MICHAEL JOHNSON reckons Braintree Town are showing what a good side they really are after bouncing back from a tough start to the season.

Glen Driver’s Iron lost their opening three games of the National League South campaign but since then have won six and drawn one of eight.

Last week they triumphed 3-1 away at title-favourites Havant & Waterlooville to head into the FA Cup break inside the play-off places.

Keeper Johnson, for one, is loving life at the Iron and says a close changing room are enjoying playing alongside each other.

“I know people have spoken about the budget and how they tipped us to struggle,” Johnson told The NLP. “A few of the boys from around the league that I spoke to after the first three games said we could be the whipping boys of the league. But I think we’ve got some really good players for the budget we’ve got.
