1. Set business hours
First and foremost, establish some official business hours or “best time to contact me” hours. Even if you run a part-time photography company, having established hourly limitations in place is essential. Share on your website and with your clients that you are unavailable on Sundays, that you take phone calls from 9-5, and that the ideal time to contact you is in the afternoons from 2-4. I advise doing this not just for your clients, but also for your family. Most of us are married or have children, and we won’t regret having those business hours in place when it comes to enjoying our genuine lives. When our children grow up much too quickly and memories fade, the most essential thing we can do is be present for the people we care about.
2. Decide how much you can handle and stick to it
