How To Improve Your Fashion E-Commerce Content
Asian Photography|December 2022
When it comes to content, running a fashion e-commerce site can be extremely demanding. Customers today have higher expectations for what they want to see from their favourite brands and online clothing stores. This includes everything from product videos to packshot photography (in which the product is shown alone on a white background) to model and editorial content. We'll teach you how to optimise your product content in this article. This includes finding ways to cut costs, improving your live model photography production values, and taking better flat lay and ghost mannequin packshots. Any or all of these five tips can help brands make the most of the resources they use to create fashion content.

How To Improve Your Fashion E-Commerce Content

1. Match your brand's values, target audience, and message

Every part of your content should tell your brand's narrative. This includes your photos as well as the wording and user experience on your website. All of the decisions you make here determine which models you will use, what types of product images you will require, and, ultimately, what style they will have.

A new brand?

If you're beginning a new company, looking for inspiration in magazines and lookbooks - even other brands you respect - and putting it into a moodboard might be a wonderful place to start. The goal here is to inform your marketing from the top down so that all decisions are consistent with your brand values.

Do you already have content?

Make an effort to maintain consistency If you already have a well-established brand, you must match all of your existing marketing materials to your visual content. Of all, brands seldom remain static in fashion, so every new campaign or piece of content must represent your growing brand image - whether it's campaign-based or long-term.

Consistency attracts customers

Product imagery will always benefit from viewers being able to compare styles more easily. Online shoppers look at a lot of things, and they'll stay on your site longer if it's easier to browse imagery. Reshoot or recreate content to ensure that your brand maintains a high quality feel.

Consider the types of images that your target audience reacts to

Consider your target market and how your brand fits into their life. To construct buyer personas, ask questions such as 'Are they sporty?' 'What publications or blogs do they read?' and 'Where do they spend their leisure time?.

This benefits everyone involved in the process
